Tips when Traveling to Baguio City
Like any other trip, it would be wise to make a plan or travel itinerary before heading up to this wonderfully cold paradise. Aside from planning where to go, you should also make sure that you have everything that you will need in your bags and packs (especially prescribed medications ). Be sure to bring with you warm and thick jackets or sweaters, too. As you already know, The temperature here can be very cold especially in the early mornings and late evenings.
In addition, be sure to make reservations of your preferred hotel or accommodation early on because it can be very difficult to look for a place to stay on the spot. Click here for a list of top hotels and cheap hotels to stay in when you're in Baguio City, Philippines.
Remember that there are so many things to do here in Baguio, so be sure that you are prepared by bringing along the appropriate clothing. Bring sturdy yet comfortable shoes for walking or swim wear if you are planning to hit the hot springs in Asin.
If you are traveling by bus, then you can simply drop by the bus station and get your tickets, although it is may be necessary to make reservations during the peak seasons (December - May). If traveling by car, then make sure that your car is well-tuned and ready for the long drive ahead.
If you take the bus, then you will be unloaded in either of these two bus stations in Baguio City: Governor Pack Road (for Genesis, Partas, Dagupan Bus, and some other busses whose names I can't remember). Alternatively, if you ride the Victory Liner Bus, then you'll most likely unload in their terminal located at Marcoville (where the Baguio Water District Office is).
For those traveling by car, be sure to stop by the tourism office or police office once you enter Baguio City. There is a number coding scheme being implemented as of this writing, and I'm pretty sure you wouldn't want to spend your vacation pleading to the traffic enforcers to ignore your offense. So stop by the said offices and get an exemption pass.
Once in the city, you can buy yourself a map of Baguio City if you still don't have one - better yet, open google maps on your android phone. This makes it easier to navigate through the city and can be very helpful if you make a wrong turn.
